Abstract

The pulse-systems that can be successfully utilized in the determination of the ship's position are outlined, giving information on the arrangement of ground stations, transmitters and ship-borne receivers. The recommended wave-lengths, frequencies, intervals and their significance in the accuracy of measurements are discussed, analyzing the nature and magnitude of errors caused by various phenomena.
