RANDOM VIBRATION IN AEROSTRUCTURES.
Abstract
The report covers research results in three fairly distinct areas: hysteretic structures; optimizing isolation schemes for reducing the deleterious effects of vibration on sensitive components; and the study of methods for controlling high-order or distributed systems such as flexible aerospace vehicles in such a way that their dynamic characteristics and response to disturbances would be improved without involving significant adverse effects on structural weight and aerodynamic shape.
