FIELD EQUATIONS GOVERNING THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF LAYERED CYLINDERS.

Abstract

A system of governing equations is derived to describe the mechanical behavior of multilayered cylinders, which consist of alternating layers of a high modulus reinforcing material and a low modulus matrix material. According to the theory proposed herein, the state of deformation in the multilayered body can be described by fields defining gross displacements and local deformations. The system of governing equations includes stress equations of motion, constitutive relations, boundary conditions and displacement equations of motion. (Author)
