ON THE DETERMINATION OF SYSTEM DYNAMICS,

Abstract

Pulse testing is a technique for determining the dynamic properties of systems. Its main advantages are minimization of the time for performing the test and reduced cost for the whole process. The objective of the research program has been to determine how to extract more useful and reliable information from pulse tests. Two data reduction techniques have been shown to be useful and a number of others have been demonstrated not to be useful. Numerical Fourier transforms can be calculated if sufficient data is available. The other data reduction technique is the inversion of the convolution integral. (Author)
