METHOD OF OBTAINING METAL SULFIDES AND SELENIDES,

Abstract

The patent describes a method for obtaining metal sulfides and selenides by synthesis in the vapor phase of the elements in a vertical reactor. For greater efficiency, the initial charge is placed in the lower section of the reactor which has access to air and is heated above the temperature of the hard-to-volatilize element; at the same time the temperature in the upper section of the reactor is maintained below that of boiling but above that of solidification of the readily volatile component.
