STRUCTURE OF WATER AND POSSIBILITIES OF ALTERING IT WITH THE AID OF THE CONCENTRATION PROCESSES,
Abstract
A change in the properties of water should occur in a magnetic, in an electrical field, and also during the application of their combination (an alternating electromagnetic field). Laboratory and industrial experiments show that this magnetic treatment is an effective and economic process in the concentration (benefication) of minerals. A study was conducted on the effect of the magnetic treatment of water upon the value and sign of the electro-kinetic potential of chalcopyrite. The experiments on the kinetics of the flotation of copper ore have shown that the rate of flotation in water subjected to magnetic treatment increases by almost twice. It is concluded that the magnetic treatment of water, conducted under optimal conditions, accelerates appreciably the flotation of sulfide copper ore.
