TWO SATURABLE ABSORBERS FOR EXTENDING THE WAVELENGTH LIMITS OF A PASSIVELY Q-SWITCHED CO2 LASER,

Abstract

The discovery of two new passive Q-switching agents for use in the CO2 laser is reported. These gases, chlorotrifluoroethylene and difluorodichloromethane, permit extension of the range of wavelengths over which the passively Q-switched CO2 laser can be operated. Saturation intensities and small signal absorption coefficients were measured for these gases. (Author)
