PLASMA FRONT STUDIES.

Abstract

Shock flow studies explaining the absence of separated shock flow by Taylor instability are mentioned. Also summarized are flux transport and arc spectroscopy experiments. In the latter, 4 eV plasmas are produced. New experiments with magnetically boosted shock tubes, with shocks in current-carrying plasmas and with high field theta pinch devices are mentioned.
