PRIMARY PROCESSES IN THE PHOTOCHEMISTRY OF AZO AND RELATED COMPOUNDS AND STUDIES IN UNIMOLECULAR REACTIONS.

Abstract

A summary is given of work involving unimolecular reactions of vibrationally excited bicyclopentane produced from the photolyses of 2,3-diazabicyclo(2.2.1)hept-2-ene were studied. The primary processes in the photochemistry of 2,3-diazabicyclo(2.2.2)oct-2-ene and 2,3-diazabicyclo(2.2.1)hept-2-ene were also investigated. The photodecomposition of azoisopropane-oxygen mixtures resulted in new mechanisms for oxidation of isopropyl radicals. (Author)
