USE OF MOESSBAUER EFFECT IN CHEMISTRY.

Abstract

The report presents a brief summary of the accomplishments on the following studies: A theoretical understanding of the relation between isomer shifts, and vibration frequencies was obtained; A more definitive study of the sodium nitroprusside crystal by Mossbauer methods was made than previously reported by other parties; A theoretical understanding and a direct investigation of the effects of magnetic fields on Mossbauer spectra of iron compounds was obtained; The use of Mossbauer Effect in studying reaction mechanisms and kinetics was extended to reactions of kaolinite and ilmenite.
