INTERACTION OF BENZOYL- AND, 1,1'-DIBENZOYLFERROCENE WITH ACETYLENE IN THE PRESENCE OF SODIUM AMIDE IN LIQUID AMMONIA,

Abstract

The compound alpha-oxy-alpha-phenylpropynylferrocene (alpha-ferrocenyl-p-ethynyl benzyl alcohol) was synthesized with a yield of 70 percent by the reaction of benzoylferrocene with acetylene in the presence of sodium amide in liquid ammonia. Two new ferrocene derivatives were synthesized from 1,1'-dibenzoylferrocene and acetylene in the presence of sodium amide: 1-benzoyl-1' - (alpha-oxy-alpha-phenylpropynyl) ferrocene (54 percent) and 1,1' -di(alpha-oxy-alpha-phenylpropynyl) ferrocene (55 percent). The physicochemical constants were determined for all of the initially obtained compounds and their IR spectra were taken. (Author)
