A PROBABILISTIC INTERPRETATION OF MINER'S RULE-II

Abstract

An attempt is made to find physically realizable conditions under which both upper and lower bounds on the expected number of cycles until failure can be found and expressed by a formula which is a generalization of a variant of Miner's rule. It is concluded that a variation of Miner's rule gives a conservative lower bound for the expected number of cycles until failure under very general conditions.
