POPULATION GROWTH: INVESTIGATION OF A HYPOTHESIS,

Abstract

Rapid growth of population has retarded the rate of growth of average income. Yet relating changes in the economic and social environment to changes in the rate of population growth has scarcely been explored. The paper addresses this aspect of the population problem: the determinants of population growth. (Author)
