THE INFLUENCE OF ERRORS IN FLOW PASSAGE MANUFACTURE ON THE DIVERGENCE OF RATED CHARACTERISTICS OF TURBOJET ENGINES (TRD),
Abstract
A method is presented for determining the deviations of the coefficient of losses introduced during the process of manufacturing turbojet engine flow passages. Although the loss coefficient depends on many factors, the probability for obtaining identical dimensions in most engines depends on a certain law. This law was determinded from engine statistical data. The deviation of the loss coefficients was determined from a given formula. An analysis of the statistical data of single- and double-shaft turbojet engines showed that at the existing deviations in the loss coefficients, one of the performance characteristics will deviate from the specified tolerances in 30-35 percent of the engines. Such deviations are caused by various manufacturing errors introduced into the flow passages. The proposed method can be used in the design of aircraft engines for determining the percentage of engine components having deviations. (Author)
