GLASS FIBER REINFORCING MATERIALS,

Abstract

The selection of a rational type of fiber glass reinforcing material is extremely important, since it determines the quality of the reinforcement, its cost, and the overall economy of the entire production process. For the manufacture of tape to be used in reinforcing concrete pipes it is not advisable to utilize twisted threads, since the process of manufacturing such thread is extremely laborious. The Scientific Research Institute of Glass Fibers and The Scientific Research Institute of Plastics have developed an economical process for obtaining tape (LOS) from primary glass threads and have recommended this technology for introduction into industry.
