RESONANCE MACHINE FOR FATIGUE TESTING OF SPECIMENS,

Abstract

Machines exist for testing specimens for fatigue with the simultaneous action of bend and torsion and with an asymmetric loading cycle. These machines contain upper and lower clamps for fastening the specimen, two pairs of mutually perpendicular levers connected with the upper clamp and serving to transmit stresses to the specimen from the vibrator, and also a mechanism for creating asymmetry of loading cycles. These machines do not permit separate alteration of the asymmetric cycle of torsional and bending stresses. The proposed machine permits the obtaining of any asymmetry of the cycle of separate bending and torsional stresses. This is achieved because the mechanism for creating cycle asymmetry is made in the form of two pairs of clamp spring devices, one of which acts on the first pair of levers in the horizontal plane while the second acts on the second pair of levers in the vertical plane.
