A NAVIGATIONAL BOARD FOR SELECTING PAIRS OF STARS.

Abstract

This Author Certificate presents a navigational board for selecting pairs of stars. To provide for selecting pairs of stars at any time of day, on any date, and at any point of the terrestrial sphere, the board carries a disk with maps (in stereographic projection) of both the northern and southern celestial hemispheres. The regions in which given pairs of stars may be used are shown on the maps. The disk is movable in respect of the scale of the local time and to the flight rhumb line plotted on a semitransparent base in the coordinates of the latitude and the local time. (Author)
