THE CONICAL MONOPOLE ANTENNA.

Abstract

Verticle plane field patterns are presented for a broadband antenna (Conical Monopole), which provides excellent impedance characteristics over a 6.3 to 1 bandwidth, and for a thin vertical monopole which is adjusted to quarter wave resonance at each measurement frequency. The signal from the conical monopole at zero elevation angle is within one decibel of that from the quarter wave antenna over a 3.6 to 1 band, and within 2.8 decibels over a 4 to 1 band. (Author)
