RELATIVE TRAJECTORY DATA REDUCTION ANALYSIS.

Abstract

Knowledge of missile/drone intercept parameters is extremely important in the analysis of ordnance system performance. Because of the expense of missile/drone tests, the best possible data reduction ought to be performed. Several techniques have been established to reduce the film data, which is the primary source of information in this type of test. The procedure described herein is based on statistical techniques which eliminate many of the difficulties inherent in previous reduction techniques. It eliminates the need for film timing marks, permits the use of cameras of varying frame rates, checks and discards erroneous data, and calculates probability contours, specifying the precision of the reproduced intercept situation.
