CALCULATION OF CONCENTRATION-TIME PROFILES IN SHOCK WAVES AND THE APPLICATION OF THIS METHOD TO THE OXIDATION OF CARBON MONOXIDE.

Abstract

The report describes a computer program which calculates concentration-time profiles behind incident shock waves by numerically integrating the system of rate equations. The use of this program to investigate the kinetics of carbon monoxide oxidation is also considered. A mechanism and values for the associated rate constants which formally describe the initial rates in a 2% CO - 1% O2 - 97% Ar mixture between 1700 -2300 K is given. (Author)
