Abstract

The report describes the genesis and development of the emerging field of thraustics, the technology of using high performance materials of limited ductility in load bearing, structural applications. The report presents the nine major recommendations of the conference, background material, a history of the thraustics effort, and interpretative discussions of the recommendations.
