THEORETICAL ISSUES IN THE DESIGN OF POPULATION MOBILITY MODELS,

Abstract

The paper is an effort to clarify several major theoretical guidelines from recent research and to suggest their bearing on the future design of mobility models. The contention is that a conjunctive framework, integrating both micro- and macroanalytic aspects of the migration process, offers the most advantageous framework for studying movement through space.
