DETERMINATION OF THE EARTH'S DISTURBING POTENTIAL AND STOKES'S CONSTANTS BY THE METHOD OF GREEN'S FUNCTION (Opredelenie Vozmushchayushchego Potentsiala i Stoksovykh Postoyannykh Zemli Metodom Funktsii Grina),

Abstract

The determination of the earth's disturbing potential T from the gravity anomalies delta g given on the earth's surface has been presented by Molodenskiy as the solution of the third boundary problem of potential theory. This boundary condition may be regarded as given on the first approximation of the earth's surface S (the surface obtained by plotting only the normal heights outward from the reference surface). In the present paper this problem is solved by the method of Green's functions. (Author)
