AN EXTENDED ANALYSIS OF COMMUNICATIONS MATERIALS.
Abstract
The original aim of the study was to determine whether mass communication materials could be used to study the social structure and social processes in Communist China. The method of inquiry was computerized content analysis. Articles were coded according to a systematically constructed scheme. The result of the study on mass communication demonstrated the fruitfulness of this approach. In addition to revealing previously little known facts about the mass communications system itself, the study examined the relationship between the press and society. (Author)
