STATIONARY PLASMA ACCELERATORS AND PROSPECTS FOR THEIR APPLICATION IN THERMONUCLEAR INVESTIGATIONS,

Abstract

The report describes the basic types of accelerating mechanisms which are operational in stationary plasma accelerators and gives a brief survey of theoretical, calculated and experimental investigations which were carried out by the author. The report is an analysis of 3 questions. (1) Basic principles and properties of stationary plasma accelerators. (2) The essence of stationary compression flows and feasibility of magnetoplasma compressors as thermonuclear devices. (3) Possible arrangements for transient thermonuclear reactors with external magnetic fields.
