TENSOMETRIC METHOD FOR EVALUATION THE LUBRICATING CAPACITY OF JET FUELS,

Abstract

A patent has been issued for a strain-gage method of evaluating the lubricating property of jet fuels, based on measuring the torsional friction forces in connected parts. To increase the sensitivity and accuracy of the analysis, torque is applied to an oscillatory system, e.g., the spring of a pump, and the magnitude of the amplitude of the system's oscillations is measured.
