WIDE-BAND DELAY LINE WITH DISTRIBUTED PARAMETERS,

Abstract

The wide-band delay line with distributed parameters consists of a dielectric of cylindrical form over which are placed (along the axis of the cylinder) bars which are connected to a grounded wire, a dielectric spacer which covers the conductive bars, a helical winding placed over the dielectric spacer, and adjusting elements. To improve the linearity of the phase-frequency characteristics of the delay line, capacitive components shaped as rectangular plates are used. The rectangular plates are placed parallel to the line axis on an adhesive tape wound around the helical winding. The conductive rings which envelope the line are used as inductive adjustment elements.
