FLIGHT SIMULATOR,

Abstract

A flight simulator is described for producing given load stresses on a test subject. The unit consists of a base with an electric drive which rotates a platform holding a frame with counterweights. The installation also incorporates a Cardan suspension with a cab for accommodation of the test subject. For closer approximation of actual flight conditions, the simulator is equipped with a boom which has a vertical rocking angle which may be varied from zero to 180 degrees. The boom is moved in this plane by weights which are held in a given position by an electric motor. (Author)
