THE FINE SPECTRAL STRUCTURE OF RUBY LASER EMISSION,

Abstract

Radiation from a RAZDAN-type ruby laser was investigated using an ASP-20 horizontal, sun-diffraction spectrograph, which permits wave study in the 3000-11000 A range with a resolution of 0.017 A in the red band. The study established that ruby laser radiation is not monochromatic but contains a series of spectral line-modes within a 0.6 A range. A photometric cross section of pulse spectrograms was prepared in order to compare the radiation intensity of separate modes from pulse to pulse.
