SELECTION OF THE LENGTH OF A THERMOCOUPLE FOR MEASURING INSTANTANEOUS TEMPERATURE IN NONSTATIONARY GAS FLOWS,

Abstract

When designing a thermocouple for measuring the temperature in an unsteady gas flow, the length of the thermocouple is very important. In the present study, the transitional process of a thermocouple with a specific length and diameter made from a thin wire with a junction in the middle was investigated. The investigation showed that at the very beginning of the transition process both thermocouples (one with a finite length and the other with infinite length) show the same temperature. (Author)
