COMPARISON OF 1968 DOD AND NATIONAL SURVEYS OF COMPENSATION PAID TO SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS.

Abstract

The study compares the characteristics and compensation of Department of Defense (DoD) activities in research, development, test and evaluation with those reported in the 1968 National Survey of Compensation conducted by the Columbus Laboratories of the Battelle Memorial Institute (BMI). The information in both surveys was as of 15 September 1968, and essentially the same data elements were used. Characteristics such as salary patterns, degree levels, disciplines, occupations and maturity are compared, together with their interrelationships. (Author)
