BOUNDING PRINCIPLES FOR DYNAMICALLY LOADED STRUCTURES COMPOSED OF TIME INDEPENDENT MATERIALS,

Abstract

Energy techniques for determining upper bounds on displacements for dynamically loaded elastic and elastic-plastic structures are reviewed. Greatest emphasis is given to impulsive loading. The basic theory is presented for elastic, rigid-plastic, and elastic-plastic materials without rate effects, and the theory is illustrated by examples. (Author)
