ON THE CONVERGENCE OF THE RITZ-GALERKIN PROCEDURE IN THE CALCULATION OF OPTIMAL CONTROL BY THE EPSILON TECHNIQUE,

Abstract

The paper investigates the Ritz-Galerkin procedure in obtaining the optimal solution for Balakrishnan's Epsilon technique. The optimal control problems with constrainted control and unconstrainted state space are considered. A minimizing sequence for this epsilon problem is constructed and the covergence of the method is proved. (Author)
