STOCHASTIC THERMAL STRESSES.

Abstract

The problem of thermal stresses in elastic and viscoelastic bodies exposed to random temperature variations has been studied. Dependence of viscosity on temperature has been taken into account for linear and nonlinear materials. The problem of lifetime and failure has been investigated. A method for optimizing the heating process of a viscoelastic body to a given final uniform temperature has also been developed.
