THE YOUNG PERSON'S GUIDE TO THE DATA

Abstract

The report is a study given at a conference to judge the present and potential value of various methods for calculating the development of the turbulent boundary layer in a pressure gradient. The purpose in this introductory lecture is to classify and criticize the available data, so that any comparison of measured and predicted quantities can include some estimate as to the quality and completeness of the various experiments.
