ORGANIZATION OF THE CONVEYANCE OF SATELLITE INFORMATION INTO BLANKS OF GEOGRAPHIC CHARTS,

Abstract

A specially developed system is proposed for converting the results of processing satellite meteorological information into blank spots on geographical charts. This system must meet the following criteria: the scales of image and projection must correspond to the standards practiced by the weather service, so that the image scale meets local requirements; separate blanks must be united so that charts of meteorological fields are obtained with a full closing of the field loop; the largest portion of the blank surface must be used, if possible, for the representation of a meteorological field. The authors offer an algorithm for processing the appropriate satellite data on a computer equipped with an alphanumerical printer with a wide paper roll (large number of print positions). A demonstration is made of how data can be analyzed in a coordinate grid; this grid and the processed data serve to determine the format of successive print lines of the printer. (Author)
