DIGITAL-COMPUTER STUDY OF HEAT-TRANSFER PHENOMENA IN A MOVING MEDIUM,

Abstract

The problem of the unsteady state heat transfer in a flow of liquid leads to the integration of equations in partial derivatives describing this process. The effect is studied of the errors introduced by rounding off in regard to the stability of the solution. The conditions obtained for the stability of the solution are used for programming the solution of the equation for heat transfer on a digital computer. The operational scheme for the program of computations for the heat transfer for stabilized laminar and turbulent flows in a channel of circular section is given, and also examples of calculations for such cases. For the calculations of a plane channel, a different program was required.
