A 20-MICROSECOND ASYNCHRONOUS POWER SOURCE TRANSFER SWITCHING SYSTEM.

Abstract

A single-phase, 1-kw, 120-volt demonstration model switching system which utilizes power transistors and does not require power source synchronization was developed and laboratory evaluated. This model accomplishes load transfer between two independent power sources at any phase angle and in less than 20 microsec. The utilization of this system in investigating the effects of asynchronous switching on a limited number of electronic equipment indicated that such equipment can tolerate high-speed power source asynchronous switching.
