PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINATION OF CREEP CHARACTERISTICS OF ORIENTED GLASS-FIBER-REINFORCED PLASTICS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND ABOVE,

Abstract

Creep characteristics of SVAM glass reinforced plastics were studied at different temperatures and stresses. Data were correlated with parameters from the Rabinovich equation which was based on the generalized Maxwell equation. This relation was given for the case of uniaxial tension under isothermal conditions. The parameters in the equation depended on the properties of the glass fibers and binder, and on the direction of loading relative to the axis of elastic symmetry.
