RECURSIVE RELATIONS FOR A CLASS OF RANK STATISTICS UNDER LEHNMANN ALTERNATIVES.

Abstract

Let X sub i, i = 1,...,t be independent random variables with distribution functions F superscript (K sub i), (K sub i > zero), respectively, where F is a continuous distribution function. Consider ni independent observations on X sub i, i = 1,...,t and the resulting combined sample ranks. Recursive relations for a defined class of rank statistics are developed from which the marginal and joint distributions and the ordinal moments of numbers of the class can be generated. Application of these relations for some specific members of the class is discussed. (Author)
