HOLOGRAPHY FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDIES: CONCENTRATION GRADIENTS.

Abstract

The use of holographic interferometry to study concentration changes and diffusion coefficients in a Cu-CuSO4 cell is discussed. The direct relationship of refractive index change to concentration allows calculation of diffusion coefficients using an optical system which does not disturb the electrochemical processes being studied. Values of diffusion coefficients obtained agree with published literature values. (Author)
