STATIC INVERTER FOR LIGHTWEIGHT, SILENT DC-AC FIELD POWER SOURCE.

Abstract

A static inverter for a portable, silent, military power source providing 120 volt, 60 and 400 Hz a.c. and 24 volt d.c. power is described. Sinusoidal a.c. voltage is processed by a high frequency static inverter from a mechanically rechargeable metal air battery d.c. power source. The battery and inverter manpack modules, weighing 35 and 30 pounds, respectively, supply 500 VA continuously for 5 hours per anode charge. (Author)
