TOOL FOR CALKING THE SURFACES OF PARTS,

Abstract

A tool is known for surface hardening of parts by the calking method; it consists of housing, a drive, a buffer device, and a firing pin. As distinguished from the known one, in the described tool on the firing pin there are fastened a guide sleeve and a round cone. The sleeve assures the positioning of the working surface of the head in a plane perpendicular to the lines of the teeth, and the cone assures the necessary relative movement of the pin and the part being machined. This makes possible the machining of the notches of the slanting and straight teeth of cylindrical gearwheels. (Author)
