TURBULENT TANGENTIAL STRESS AND DISSIPATION OF TURBULENT ENERGY IN THE LOWER TWO-METER LAYER OF THE ATMOSPHERE,

Abstract

The article covers methods and principles of operating of instruments for direct measurement of tangential turbulent stress. On the basis experimental data are given dependencies of turbulent tangential stress on thermal stratification and wind velocity, plus dependencies of the rate of viscous dissipation and dimensions of vortexes 'responsible' for viscous dissipation on height.
