ON A ROOT-DISTANCE RELATION FOR ARITHMETIC CODES,

Abstract

It is shown that, for all practical purposes, one can synthesize codes of given length and minimum distance by a simple root-distance relation. This gives the strong relation between the arithmetic code and the BCH code.
