OPTIMIZATION OF THE WORK OF A COMPLETE-MIXING CULTIVATOR WITH BIOMASS RECYCLING,

Abstract

The stationary work regime of a unit with biomass centrifugation and recycling was investigated (when the growth rate is not inhibited by products of vital activities). It was found that the maximum efficiency is achieved with a maximum possible flow through the fermenter and a maximum concentration of the substrate in the fresh nutrient flow; the concentration of the substrate inside the fermenter should also have the maximum permissible value. Formulas were obtained for calculating the values of all unit parameters necessary to maintain such a regime. The limit of the increase in efficiency at the expense of the centrifuge was found.
