CASCADES OF TRANSFORMATIONS OF TWO DIMENSIONAL DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS,

Abstract

Preprocessing of visual information is discussed. Features are extracted from a distribution function through successive applications of analog transformations and an analysis is given of the feature extracting abilities of the Visual Image Processor. Cascades of non-linear transformations are discussed and it is shown that a system of cascaded transformations of analog functions is a subset of the class of cascaded non-linear transformations.
