ALUMINUM POWDER PRODUCTION CHARACTERISTICS FOR SINTERED ALUMINUM POWDER,

Abstract

APS aluminum powder used in sintered aluminum powder (SAP) is produced through grinding in a ball mill in the presence of stearin. A specific particle size corresponds to each grade of APS powder prior to nodulizing. A study of the particle structure for nodulized APS powder showed that such particles consist of smaller particles whose size has no effect on the structure and properties of semifinished SAP material products. No positive results were achieved through introduction of additives to the grinding process. Grinding in gasoline medium served to decrease the powder gas content.
