COLORLESS OPTICAL GLASS.

Abstract

This standard establishes specifications for different types of achromatic optical glass. It lists optical characteristics of different brands of glass and sets forth the standards to determine adherence of glass blanks to established specifications. The standard establishes categories according to refractive index, mean scattering index, optical uniformity, double refraction, light absorption, flawlessness, and bubble index. The appendix of the standard lists the different types of optical instruments for which the glass may be used. (Author)
