RESEARCH, CONSTRUCTION, AND OPERATION: COEFFICIENTS OF DISCHARGE THROUGH AN ORIFICE ROUTE AT THE VANES IN TURBINE STAGES,

Abstract

The magnitude of the coefficient phi sub 3 across an orifice at the route of the vanes substantially depend on the direction of leaks and construction of packing of the route orifice. Therefore, during calculations, the quantity phi sub 3 should be selected in accordance with these parameters. The most expedient type of packing of the route orifice is radial-axial. Utilization of resigned values of the coefficient phi sub 3 through the orifice of the route of the vanes in calculations leads to substantial corrections in the value of flow and axial force in the turbine stage.
